You can fly to Papua for example from the international airports of Jakarta, Bali (Denpasar) and Makassar. Flying from the capital city of Jakarta to Papua can take up from 4 hours to 8 hours including the possible transits. Flight are always night flights. The main ports in Papua e.g Sorong, Jayapura, Manokwari, Biak, Merauke, Timika are easily accessible by domestic flights from Garuda Indonesia and the Lion Air Group (Batik Air, Wings Air and Lion Air).
Within Papua the road system between the cities are limited so you have to fly to get around the island.
